Molybdenum enzymes in lipid metabolism

The mitochondrial amidoxime-reducing component comes in two homologues (mARC1 and mARC2) being able to reduce hydroxylated prodrugs. However, their physiological function remain unknow. New studies suggest a novel function in lipid metabolism with distinct roles in phospholipid biosynthesis and triacylglycerol homeostasis.
